DISCOUNTED - INSERT CRACKLES

This Cyclone playfield has significant crackles in the window inserts, as well as a few random inserts elsewhere. The crackles are not in the clearcoat, they are in the physical plastic of the body of the insert. They were invisible and formed when the inserts were originally cast and cooled. Only clearcoat reveals them at the very last stage, then its too late. While minor hints of crackles appear at random on nearly every playfield in an insert or two, this playfield is significant enough to warrant a cull. If you're not picky, a cheaper way to get a shiny new playfield into your game. If you still want a "first", please see the Store section of the site.

Considering what everybody's clear windows look like today on their original playfields, this playfield is still a HUGE step up regardless of some crackles.

30th ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION

Genuine 9-color enamel silkscreened and 5-layer polyeurethane clearcoated. This limited edition is a 30-year Mission Anniversary version of the playfield, featuring an entirely shuttle-white enameled topside, and full-color official 1981-2011 Mission Logo on the apron. The logo is a CMYK print directly on the apron from a commercial enamel printer. Not a decal, and is embedded under the clearcoat. Dimpled both sides, drilled, and ready for installation right out of the box. For a close look at the artwork details, be sure to check out the Space Shuttle Gallery to see outdoor photos. Seconds may have tiny anomalies that culled them from the rest of the run.

Playfield Press Art Print

This is a 9-color genuine enamel silkscreened print of Space Shuttle on 5-layer Baltic Birch. These were used as lead-in boards to align the press during silkscreening of the reproduction playfields. In the end, they end up providing a scale print in enamel ink on top of real wood. Perfect for a gameroom wall hanging or for autographs. Optional clearcoating for a 5-layer playfield-like finish.

DISCOUNTED - LINE IN WHITEBACK

This glass is normal in every way, except it had an interrupted application of the white layer, and created a heavier line of white where the transfer stopped for a moment, then continued. From the frontside, it does add a very very slight shadow of a line through the word "Silverball" when backlit. If you're not picky, a quick $40 saved.

The storage separators sometimes stick to the ink on the backside of the glass, and when removed they pull the lightblock/white/pink ink clean off. This leaves a little hole in the artwork at the top edge of the glass. The glasses are fine otherwise. Will be mostly if not entirely covered by the trim or be up inside the backbox. If you can handle this, a quick $30 saved. Several available.

They are firsts, with no quality issues at all. However, please note that the upper right top arch piece (M1330-132-1) was designed & printed nearly 20% oversize by accident. It is unusable unless new holes are drilled. All other pieces are perfect. Price of the entire set was reduced by $60 because of the one oversize piece. Protective coatings unpeeled.
